There are many ways you can get involved at St Martin’s.
Bell Ringing – We are blessed with a peal of eight bells and a large tower and comfortable ringing chamber. In fact, St Martin’s is a popular destination for ringers from all over the country. The bells are ring before some services (especially on a Sunday evening) and at weddings and other special occasions. There is a regular practice session on a Wednesday evening at 7.00 pm when anyone can come to learn or to ring. We welcome experienced ringers and those who have never pulled a rope in their lives before.
For more information contact the Tower Capt – Stan Burrage on 01453832952.
You can find more information on the Bells by downloading the leaflet on the downloads page...
Coffee – They say an army marches on its stomach. Perhaps a Church is driven by coffee and tea! A dedicated team offer refreshments on a Sunday after the 11.00am service. If hospitality is your forte, we will find a place for you in the kitchen.
Musicians – If you can play a musical instrument, contact Mike on 01453 836536 to offer your services as we are always looking for new talent to join our team to play in St Martin’s on a Sunday morning. Our main instrument is the organ, but we also have a couple of people who occasionally play guitar and there is a piano in the church. If you can make a joyful noise on any instrument, we would be pleased to hear from you!!
Readers & Intercessors – We like to use the gifts of as many people as possible. Reading a lesson or preparing prayers is another way that people can get involved in our worshipping life. Contact Mike if you would like to offer your help.
Messy Church – This monthly activity involves quite a bit of preparation and so we would love to hear from anyone who has craft skills who could help in any way. For more information, please contact Rev. Sue Sobczak on 01453 833528
