A special service for Commissioning of Officers of the Mothers' Union by Rev. Caroline

Followed by afternoon tea.

On the 17th and 18th June 2023, St George's Church held its first ever music festival. Over the weekend there were performances from different groups and individuals in many different genres. The two schools in our benefice both performed, Nailsworth Primary had a choir and some piano and guitar solos and Horsley C of E provided some piano soloists. Both schools then had a fantastic Djembe drumming workshop with Ian Evans and even some adults joined in the fun! The weekend culminated with a Songs of Praise where people had voted for their favourite hymn.

Some of the Saturday performers. Wind of Change (above), Tom Robbins (centre) and Martin Bland (far right)

Junction 12 Folk group (above left), Megan Strachan, soprano (above centre), Vintage 81 rock group (above right) and Nailsworth Silver Band (left), all performed over the weekend.

Musical entertainment following our coffee mornings. Wind of Change (left),  Junction 12 Folk Group (right) and Nailsworth Community Choir (below)

Congratulations to Harry Tubbs on receiving his award into the company of St Kyneburgha.
